Light House Wharf

Port Adelaide Self-Guided Picnic Trail

šŸ® The Lighthouse Wharf Hotel — Stop, Sip, and Look Across the Road

Welcome to The Lighthouse Wharf Hotel, sitting right on the Port River with one of the best views on the whole trail.

šŸ”¦ Where the Name Comes From

This building didn't start out as "The Lighthouse." It opened back in 1857 as the Exchange Hotel, later becoming the New Exchange Hotel in the 1880s, before eventually taking on the name it's known by today — a nod to the landmark right across the road.

That landmark, Port Adelaide's lighthouse, was first lit in 1869 and has been guiding ships — and now picnic-trail visitors — ever since.

šŸ“· Photo Op Across the Road

Step outside and cross the road for one of the trail's best photo opportunities — the historic lighthouse itself, right on the water.

šŸ“ø Snap It, Share It, Get a Surprise

Keep an eye out for photo spots along the trail — including the lighthouse just across the road. Snap a photo, post it, and head back to the Visitor Information Centre to show us.

There's a little surprise waiting for anyone who does. šŸ‘€
